dinner was with our Son, Daughter-in law and Grandson in San Francisco. We enjoyed an outstanding cabernet from
Abreu.

FOLSOM WINE GROUP
The blog entries describe wines tasted at wine activities and parties conducted at member’s homes, and wine tastings at Lakeside Beverages in Granite Bay on Friday nights. Activities include a smaller group of knitters/guitar players/wine tasters that meet each Wednesday night, and more than a dozen full member annual parties conducted each year; e.g., Halloween, 4th of July, pool party, rib shootout, chili shootout, burgers and Bordeaux, Academy Award, Italian, French, Cajun, Hanukkah & older wine parties.

- My first introduction to serious wine sipping occurred in 1978. Prior to that time my wife Kathy and I only drank French wines, she drank French colombard and I drank Gallo hearty burgundy. My good friend Dr. Robert Treat was having a birthday and his wife Jan wanted to give him something special. He collected WWII artifacts and my Father was with George Patton’s army in Germany and brought back two German flags measuring approximately 10x12 feet. Now no one that I know needs TWO of these so I gave one to Jan. In return she had David Berkeley prepare a case of mixed red and white wines for me, and the rest is history.
